An air-cooled chiller is an industrial cooling device that uses ambient air dissipate heat instead of water, like in water-cooled chiller systems. It operates by pruducing chilled water, which is then circulated through systems to cool machinery, products, or spaces.

HOW AIR-COOLED CHILLERS WORK
Air-cooled chillers operate on a closed vapor-compression cycle with four main components: compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator.
- The compressor compresses the refrigerant into a high-pressure gas.
- The gas moves to the condenser, where air-blown fans cool it down and convert it into liquid form.
- The refrigerant then passes through the expansion valve, where it pressure and temperature.
- In the evaporator, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the water and evaporates, cooling the water.
The chilled water is continuously circulated to designated cooling zones such as production lines or factory floors. Once it absorbs heat, it returns to the chiller to be cooled again. As air-cooled chillers do not require cooling towers, they are easy to install, save space, and maintain effective cooling performance for various industrial applications.
